Introducing the CSF II

Using the framework

The CSF is a framework, not a detailed syllabus or blueprint for the development and delivery of specific programs, teaching methods to be used, allocation of time to particular learning areas, or materials and methods of assessment. These details, along with decisions about staffing, equipment and other resources, and all other aspects of actual programs, are determined by the individual school in the light of that school community’s needs, priorities and resources.

The CSF supports schools in developing and delivering programs by providing a strong focus for teaching and learning (the curriculum) and clear statements of what students are expected to achieve (the standards). Individual schools make all decisions about actual programs. This relationship is shown in the print version of the CSF II. Click here to see the diagram.
