At Level 3 the student is able to:

 Make and present performing arts works, using a range of performing arts elements, skills, techniques and processes. Sample unit: Top Books: Book Week Sample unit: The Good Old Days?: Checking Out Our Local History

This is evident when the student is able to:

  • select, organise and combine a range of performing arts elements, with the intention of developing arts ideas
  • use a range of materials, spaces, sounds and/or movements to develop arts ideas based on own and others’ cultures
  • develop skills, using techniques and processes in making performing arts works
  • plan and present performances of own and others’ works for a particular audience or purpose.

Responding to the arts – criticism, aesthetics and contexts

 Identify and describe key features of performing arts works from own and other cultures. Sample unit: Top Books: Book Week

This is evident when the student is able to:

  • identify key features of performing arts works from various cultures
  • describe ways in which ideas from own and other cultures contribute to own performing arts works
  • identify purposes for which performing arts works are made and used in the community
  • use appropriate terminology to name and describe features of performing arts works.
