At Level 4 the student is able to:

4.1
ARME0401  

 Demonstrate the ability to experiment with ideas in making and presenting media productions. Sample unit: Read All About It!: Writing a Virtual Newspaper Sample unit: Oh No! I Left My Sleeping Bag At Home!: Planning a School Camp

This is evident when the student is able to:

  • apply a range of media equipment in order to explore its expressive potential
  • experiment with media elements to clearly represent ideas and experiences of environment Environmental Education
  • present media products to suit different audiences and purposes.

4.2
ARME0402  

 Demonstrate skill in manipulating media elements. Sample unit: Read All About It!: Writing a Virtual Newspaper Sample unit: Oh No! I Left My Sleeping Bag At Home!: Planning a School Camp

This is evident when the student is able to:

  • select and combine media elements to produce sequences and layouts
  • use equipment to develop media productions that clearly express ideas
  • develop media productions individually and in groups
  • prepare media productions to find satisfactory solutions to specific media exercises.

Responding to the arts – criticism, aesthetics and contexts

4.3
ARME0403  

 Describe personal observations about the content and structure of media texts and productions. Sample unit: Read All About It!: Writing a Virtual Newspaper

This is evident when the student is able to:

  • describe different types of media texts in specific media forms
  • identify and describe different aspects of own and others’ media productions
  • describe the contributions of individuals and organisations involved in media productions.

4.4
ARME0404  

 Distinguish features of media texts and productions that locate them in a particular time, place or culture. Sample unit: Read All About It!: Writing a Virtual Newspaper

This is evident when the student is able to:

  • identify features of media texts and productions made in different times, places or cultures
  • describe media technologies that have been used in the production of media texts
  • identify the influence of production conditions and technology on media texts
  • describe the impact of media productions and texts in the community.
