Prior learning This task requires that students know how to use coordinates of the form (x,y). TASK - Dot To Dot Drawing Students were asked to complete a dot-to-dot drawing by using a ruler to join coordinates of the form (x,y) using positive numbers only (first quadrant) on grid paper. Students were given the coordinates in three columns, as well as the instruction that horizontal (across) coordinates are given first, and vertical (up) coordinates second. They were also asked to give the coordinates of two locations on the given picture. Students were given 20 minutes to complete the task and they were expected to work independently with no assistance from other students or their teacher.
